This is quite a good one.

It was pretty fun.

It started off with dinner and the playing of the ‘slideshow’ that my brother and I put together.

Then Jen gave me my guard flag things (which I didn’t care about, I only did one season of winter guard and it was a joke really.)

Then Grenier went on talking and blahblahblah…then he goes and announces who got the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award.

I got it.

I was shocked, honestly. I didn’t feel I deserved it, but as I look back on my jazz band career, I’ve done pretty much everything jazz I could since my freshman year and have played what ever saxophone he needed for it. Was I the ‘star’ soloist or best saxophone player? No. (Well ok, I am the best bari sax player.) But I was one of the most committed and devoted. But that really isn’t something I would expect an award for, that’s just something you do when you love something.

Anyway, it was an honor. I am quite proud. :)

I’ve honestly had a great year and I can’t wait to start up band at Ball State.

Hobart may not have the best band, but I’ve learned a lot and made some great friends and memories.
